All Rights Reserved 5714 Broadway, Richmond, IL 60071   —   815-678-6521 Buildings & Grounds Ministry Vision: To make our church building and grounds an inviting place for everyone in the community:  • We maintain and upgrade the overall look and feel of our church building to make it an inviting center of care for the congregation. • We develop a detailed monthly or seasonal list of maintenance items Evangelism Ministry Vision: To reach out to spread the “Good News of Christ” to new people and promote inter- generational fellowship in the local church: • We welcome visitors by providing greeters at every service and follow up with welcome letters. • We host refreshment time after Sunday worship services. • We sponsor an inviting and informative website. • We reach out through booths at the Richmond and Johnsburg Business Expos. • We host special events open to the public. • We host family game nights. • We publish church news in two newspapers. Stewardship & Finance Ministry Vision: To financially sustain the various ministries of Community Church: • We encourage stewardship of all of God’s creation • We establish a budget and manage the resources of Community Church • We encourage tithing among our membership • We arrange for annual pledging by our members • We support special fund-raising efforts by various church groups Wider Mission Ministry Vision: To lend help and support to those within our church, community, and world as Christ would have us do: We support: • Our Church’s Wider Mission • One Great Hour of Sharing • Strengthen the Church • Neighbors in Need • The Christmas Fund • Various local charities • Local food pantries • Ministers Discretionary Fund We sponsor: • Four blood drives annually. • Missionaries. • Resettling refugee families through Exodus World Service. • Special projects as needed. Worship and Spiritual Growth Ministry Vision: To encourage and help all people associated with Community Church to build their spiritual lives: • We provide meaningful worship services • We providing support to music groups (Praise Team for Contemporary Worship and Chancel Choir for Traditional Worship) • We work in cooperation with the Chancel Team, a group that takes care of chancel arrangements and setting up for Holy Communion • We provide ushers and greeters for Sunday and special services • We arrange for altar flowers • We design Sunday and weekly Bible study groups. Youth Education Ministry Vision: To provide an inviting caring atmosphere for children and youth to learn about Jesus’ plan for their lives through: • Traditional worship: Children are dismissed for God’Zone following the children’s sermon. • Contemporary worship: children are dismissed for “Contemporary Kids” at an appropriate point during the service. • Youth Fellowship: Youth meet as scheduled by group leader. • LOGOS Organized Groups Women’s Fellowship Vision: To blend our unique activities with all groups to accomplish the vision of the Community Church of Richmond. • We hold monthly meetings that provide Christian inspiration and inclusive fellowship. • We provide funeral luncheons and family support. • We participate in World Day of Prayer and lead Women’s Sunday. • We hold a holiday luncheon and craft fair. • We provide nursery attendant’s salary. • We donate to area charities. Knit Together Vision: To meet in fellowship and share our needlework abilities by teaching others and producing afghans and shawls for those in need of prayers for comfort, encouragement, or love: • We meet weekly to work on our knit and crochet projects and help members who are learning these needle arts to improve and expand their abilities. • We take requests for shawls and afghans for those who need our prayers • We plan our projects using mostly donated materials. • We dedicate finished projects to specific people and then take them to the sanctuary to be blessed during the next worship service. Eve’s Candlelight Fellowship Vision: To gather in fellowship and encourage and support each other to participate in events and activities that will help the women of the Community Church of Richmond grow in spirit, strength and number: • We sponsor Lenten Soup Suppers and programs • We create a visual impact in community events • We host and/or organizing special events • We help other ministries as needed Men’s Breakfast Group Vision: To meet regularly to build Christian fellowship in an active manner: • We provide clean-up, painting and/or repair services to the people or families who are physically and financially unable to help themselves. • We supply most of the physical labor for work designated by the Buildings & Grounds Ministry Special Committees Endowment Fund Committee Vision: To increase and administer the Endowment Fund of Community Church, from which the income from invested monies will be used to further the mission of Community Church: • We encourage contributions to the Endowment Fund. • We encourage giving through wills and bequests. • We distribute funds for mission as they become available Memorials & Gifts Committee Vision: To honor the memory of departed loved ones and to receive special gifts: • We receive and process monetary gifts given in remembrance of those who have passed to the other side or in honor of special occasions. • We select appropriate memorials in memory of deceased individuals.
